2017

FLF builds an office building for the Coffee Cooperative (ECA). This organization is oversees the coffee bean sales and helps ensure the economy of La Ladrillera stays healthy.

2016

> FLF institutes a Community Wellness Program. Nurse Micaela Yax conducts wellness visits to villagers requiring extra care and provides pre-natal vitamins to pregnant women and children’s vitamins sourced by FLF.

2015

FLF ships 10,000 lbs of much-needed items to La Ladrillera via the US government’s Denton Program, a division of the US DoD. The Denton Program allows private U.S. citizens and organizations to use space available on U.S. military cargo planes to transport humanitarian goods to countries in need.

2014

FLF opens a Community Thrift Store stocked with gently used items donated by American families. Local young woman Lliny Zapon, runs the store and uses proceeds as scholarship money to attend college and become a teacher.

2013

FLF purchases 16 computers for a computer laboratory at the school and hires a computer instructor.

FLF invests in the Coffee Program to revitalize the community’s yearly coffee harvest.

2011

FLF implements the Family to Family Nutrition Program in which FLF pairs American families with families in La Ladrillera to provide a monthly provision of food staples to families most in need.

FLF builds a library in the center of town and staffs with a librarian who provides learning programs to children and oversees daily operations.

FLF builds its first bamboo home and begins FLF’s Bamboo Housing Program.
